Seikido, established in October 1987 in London Ontario, is based on TaeKwonDo and Aikido. Elizabeth Windover joined the Seikido School of Self Defense as a student at the age of 9, with her older brother, in September 1991. In March 1997 Elizabeth earned the rank of Black Belt and became an assistant instructor. Later she achieved subsequent Black Belt levels: Second Dan 1999; Third Dan 2006; Fourth Dan 2008
World Seikido uses the ITF (International TaeKwonDo Federation) belt ranking system, patterns and tenets as the basis for instruction. The family oriented classes provide great instruction and discipline for all ages. At the end of each belt level, students participate in a grading/test to demonstrate the knowledge learned for that level. These gradings/tests include techniques from both TaeKwonDo and Aikido.
