Elizabeth Windover is owner and manager of Active Abundance. She is a fitness instructor with a strong back ground in martial arts with World Seikido. She has done martial arts based on Tae Kwon Do and Aikido for almost 25 years. This includes over 15 years of teaching experience. As a Master Instructor Elizabeth shows other World Seikido instructors how to break down and teach moves so that they are easier for students to learn. Elizabeth wants to give people up to date health and fitness info, so she took the ‘Health, Fitness and Nutrition Consultant’ program at Everest College. Elizabeth earned a ‘Diploma with Honours’ with a 92.5% average. She learned things that helped her get CanFitPro certifications. Elizabeth has ‘Nutrition and Wellness Specialist’ (NWS), ‘Personal Trainer Specialist’ (PTS), and ‘Fitness Instructor Specialist’ (FIS).
Elizabeth has the support of family, friends, World Seikido instructors as well as the people at the Elgin Business Resource Centre and the Home Based Business Association. Elizabeth’s mother, Jo-Anne Windover offers her own mix of talents in a dual role as Office Assistant and Assistant Instructor.
People who need more physical activity will benefit from the services offered by Active Abundance. According to statistics less than 20% of people get the amount of exercise suggested by Health Canada. The federal government has new tax reasons for Canadian families to be more active.
Active Abundance offers a variety of fitness and wellness services. Special fitness classes offer a martial arts tone and real martial arts moves, without the worry of one on one contact.
The business runs year round with some martial arts based fitness classes running all the time and others starting each term. Active Abundance will have seminars on topics linked to fitness and nutrition based wellness. One on one services are offered as required to help you meet your fitness and nutrition needs.
The business office is home based. Fitness classes will be in a suitable room in a building run by a group eager to work together to provide affordable family fitness to the local community. The site will be close to homes of families that are looking for physical activities and is readily accessed by bus or car.
Active Abundance combines Elizabeth’s love of martial arts and her passion for helping people. The result is martial arts based fitness for families that might not afford more costly physical activities. Active Abundance also mixes fitness and nutrition. These are basic factors of wellness which is a key measure of quality of life.
Elizabeth Windover is responsible for all business activities from research and ground work to teaching and general office duties. Active Abundance classes run weekdays in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Other services are set to fit the situation.
To join in, you need to wear comfy clothing and do some basic paperwork. Remember to talk to your health care provider before starting a new physical activity. Active Abundance allows people to participate in any class once prior to signing up for that class. Arrive early and see Elizabeth before class.

Programs will be introduced and expanded as fitness and nutrition activities become available. Active Abundance services undergo constant development.
